The Bedford County Schools district has made revisions to the 2026-27 school calendar to comply with a recommendation from the Tennessee Department of Education (TDOE). These changes affect two school days: Friday, February 5, 2027, and Monday, April 5, 2027, which will change from staff development days to regular school days.
This change was recommended by TDOE to allow for more days to be held in reserve as inclement weather days. The state explained that in recent years they have seen an increase overall in weather-related school closings.
