"I believe in the role that competitive sports play with our student-athletes. It creates the groundwork to excel on the field and in the classroom. We learn what it means to have goals, work as a team, rely on others, and practice as individuals to improve. Playing a sport creates many wonderful memories that last a lifetime. And with good direction and encouragement from coaches and parents, they can create lifelong habits that will help these young athletes throughout their lives.

 

Sports teach us how to persevere under stress and be accountable for our actions, even when we feel as though we have nothing else to give. We learn how to train our bodies and minds so that we are stronger tomorrow than we were today. Sports allow us to establish goals larger than ourselves and give us opportunities to reach them. And they teach us how to celebrate victories... and even overcome the heartaches of failure. Because without the risk of failure, we can never truly enjoy the thrills of success. And that's the beauty of sport and why I love to coach.
