HMS Girls Basketball will be having conditioning on Monday, September 28 and Tuesday, September 29 from 3:30 PM- 5:00 PM in the HMS Gym. Tryouts will be held on Wednesday, September 30, from 3:30 PM – 5:30 PM. Those trying out are to have an updated sports physical that is dated after April 15, 2026, and must have proper attire and equipment.

What a week it has been here at #HMS!
This past week was Fall Homecoming Week, with plenty of action both on and off the field. From fun dress-up days and a fantastic pep rally to the Homecoming Dance tonight, it has been a busy and exciting week to be an Eagle!
So, without further ado, let’s turn on EagleVision and take a look back at all the HMS Sports action from September 21–25!
⚽ MONDAY
HMS Girls Soccer kicked off postseason play with a 4–0 victory over Highland Rim in the district tournament.
Slayleigh Doak scored two goals, including one off a corner kick from Kinzley Whitworth. Sydney Peacock added a goal on a penalty kick, while Macey Peacock rounded out the scoring for the Eaglettes. Gaby Reyes recorded another clean sheet in goal.
That victory sent the Eaglettes into a second postseason game on Wednesday. More on that in a moment!
HMS Cross Country competed Monday afternoon at Cascade. Elijiah Williams finished 2nd overall, and according to Coaches Gable and Cleveland, the entire team ran well!
HMS Volleyball traveled to Coffee County Monday night. Both JV and Varsity gave it their all, but both teams came up short. JV battled through three sets.

FIVE IN A ROW!
The HMS Eagles Football team defeated Warren County 26–16 Tuesday night, earning their fifth consecutive victory!
With the win, the Eagles locked up 1st place in the CTC and secured their spot in the Lion’s Bowl on Tuesday night, September 29, in Tullahoma.
Coach Ransom had this to say following Tuesday night’s victory:
“We continued to do what we set out to do each and every week and that's get better. The failure that we experienced early in the year focused us to achieve what was out of sight at the beginning of the year, and that's being number 1 in the conference and having the opportunity to do something special.”

Both JV and Varsity played their hearts out, but each team came up short against Tullahoma. Both squads battled through three sets and played very well according to Coach Mason.
A big THANK YOU to our 8th-grade players for everything they have contributed to the HMS Volleyball program! 💙💛

In Ms. Caren Fisher’s 8th grade science class at Harris Middle School, students are taking Newton’s 2nd Law out of the textbook and putting it to the test!
Using hands-on lab materials from Vanderbilt University, students used K’Nex cars powered by twisted rubber bands to investigate how changes in force and mass affect acceleration.
Through testing and observation, #students gathered evidence to better understand the relationship between force, mass and acceleration.
Learning science is more than just knowing the laws. It’s about testing them, observing them and seeing them in action! 🚗💨

The HMS Eaglettes Soccer Team kicks off postseason play Monday night as they host Highland Rim at 5:30 PM.
📍 Turf Field in front of the SCHS Gym
🏃♂️ HMS Cross Country will compete at Cascade on Monday at 4:00 PM.
🏐 HMS Volleyball travels to Coffee County. JV begins at 5:30 PM, with Varsity to follow.

It’s a BIG night at The Nest!
HMS Football hosts Warren County for 8th Grade Night and Fall Homecoming! 🎉
8th Grade Night festivities for football, band, and cross country begin at 6:00 PM, with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 PM.

Open gym for #HarrisMiddleSchool Girls Basketball is Monday, September 21 from 3:30 PM - 5:30 PM.
Those attending must have an updated sports physical and wear proper attire.
Parents will need to pick kids up on the bus rider side of the #HMS Gym.
Tomorrow is the start of #HarrisMiddleSchool Football Homecoming and that means the first dress-up day of the week.
The theme for Monday is "Why'd You Come In Here Lookin' Like That?" Tacky Clothes and Pajamas Day. Students(and staff) are encouraged to dress tin acky clothes and/or pajamas.
All dress-up days this week are based on different hit songs from Dolly Parton.
So roll out of bed and either keep on your school-appropriate pajamas or put on your tackiest school-appropriate clothes and celebrate the life and legacy of a Tennessee icon at #HMS!
