🚗💨 Newton’s 2nd Law in Action! ⚙️🔬
In Ms. Caren Fisher’s 8th grade science class at Harris Middle School, students are taking Newton’s 2nd Law out of the textbook and putting it to the test!
Using hands-on lab materials from Vanderbilt University, students used K’Nex cars powered by twisted rubber bands to investigate how changes in force and mass affect acceleration.
Through testing and observation, #students gathered evidence to better understand the relationship between force, mass and acceleration.
Learning science is more than just knowing the laws. It’s about testing them, observing them and seeing them in action! 🚗💨

✨ Continuing the Work. Strengthening Student Support.❤️
Interventionists from across #BedfordCountySchools recently gathered for a meaningful session that marked their final meeting with Mrs. Susan Huff, who is retiring at the end of September, and the beginning of a transition as Dr. Sandra Powell prepares to continue leading this important work.
Throughout their time together, our Interventionists have worked to strengthen supports for students across BCS, sharing ideas, collaborating and focusing on strategies that help #students grow and succeed. 📚🌟
As this work transitions, the commitment to supporting #student learning continues. BCS appreciates Mrs. Huff for the time, #leadership and collaboration shared with Interventionists and looks forward to the continued work under the leadership of Dr. Powell.🫶

Who says learning has to happen sitting still?! 🤪📏☀️
ABLE took learning OUTSIDE today! We got up, got moving, and put our measurement skills to work with some hands-on activities. Our movement lesson definitely lived up to its name… and somehow even ELA turned into a mini dance party! 😂💃🕺
Measuring, moving, dancing, laughing AND learning?! We’ll call that a pretty good school day! 🥰📚
Sometimes you just have to get out of those chairs and MOVE! ❤️
