Recently, members of the #HarrisMiddleSchool Student Council went on a reward field trip to Dollywood.
Mrs. Lawell, sponsor of #HMS Student Council, had this to say about their recent trip:
"So proud of our Student Council! Students who earned enough points were invited on a reward field trip to Dollywood, and several of our leaders were so active all year that they earned the trip for free. Well deserved!
We didn’t manage to grab a full group photo at the park, but we did get a great shot with the crew who rode back on the bus to Buc-ee’s.
It’s truly a privilege to serve and teach these kids. They are amazing!"

#HarrisMiddleSchool Softball will be holding tryouts on Friday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 26.
Tryouts both days for #HMS Eaglettes Softball will be from 4pm-6pm and will be held at Never Rest Park in Shelbyville, TN.
Players who want to tryout will need to attend the tryouts on both days, bring all of their equipment, and will need to have a sports physical dated after April 15, 2026.

Second Half Comeback Brings Soccer Championship To Harris.
The #HarrisMiddleSchool Boys Varsity Soccer team defeated Whitthorne by a score of 4-2.
#HMS trailed Whitthorne 2-0 at the end of the first half of action but scored four goals in the second half to win the game.
Jacob Flores scored two goals, Ramiro Rodriguez and Carson Yoes scored one goal each, Junior Palacios and Atzel Fernandez had one assist each.
Next up, regionals.

Harris Middle School Varsity Tennis Advanced To CTC Championship Match.
#HarrisMiddleSchool Varsity Tennis defeated Coffee County to advance to the CTC Tennis Championship Match next week.
Both the #HMS Eagles and #HMS Eaglettes are 15-0 on the season following their wins today.
For the Eagles, Ethan Grimes, Charlie Watson, Brison Sims, and Shaggy Keffer won 6-0 as did the duo of Ethan Grimes and Charlie Watson.
For the Eaglettes, Elan Grijalva and Luna Zamudio won 6-0. Elan Grijalva and Luna Zamudio also won 6-0 in doubles as did the pairing of Maddie Marsh and Carmencita Jordan.
The Eagles and Eaglettes will play for the CTC Tennis Championship next week.

Harris Middle School Baseball Fall After Strong Showing By TMS Wildcats - Varsity

#HarrisMiddleSchool Baseball had trouble keeping up with TMS Wildcats - Varsity in a 12-3 loss on Tuesday.
TMS Wildcats - Varsity got on the board in the top of the first inning after Ray singled, scoring one run, Pogue doubled, scoring two runs, and Bunch singled, scoring two runs.
TMS Wildcats - Varsity added to their early lead in the top of the second inning after Ray singled to center field, Brinkley doubled down the left field line, and Bunn singled to center field, each scoring one run.
A fly out by Ray extended the TMS Wildcats - Varsity lead to 9-1 in the top of the third inning.
Chasen McMillian started the game for #HMS Baseball. The hurler gave up three hits and five runs over one inning, striking out one and walking two.
Tobin Hathcock, Canyon Todd, Omar Garcia, and Knox Bowman each collected one hit for Harris Middle School Baseball. Todd and Garcia each drove in one run for Harris Middle School Baseball. Jake Dunnavant paced Harris Middle School Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game. Harris Middle School Baseball turned one double play in the game.

Attention all students who are interested in playing tennis for #ShelbyvilleCentralHighSchool and their parents/guardians.
#SCHS Tennis will be hosting tryouts for the 2026-2027 team on Friday, May 22, from 12 noon to 1pm at the Shelbyville Recreational Center. Students interested in trying out must have a sports physical dated after April 15, 2026.
This tryout is for both boys and girls who will be attending SCHS in the fall of 2026 or home school students who are zoned for SCHS.
