#HarrisMiddleSchool will be celebrating Winter Homecoming the week of December 8-12. The theme this year is Balling Through The Blizzard! There will be a different dress up, as follows:

Monday-Blizzard Bedhead Day
Wear your favorite pajamas and slippers

Tuesday-WHO's Got Spirit?
Dress like a Who from Whoville or something Grinchy with wild hair, festive/bright colors of cheer

Wednesday- Ice, Ice Baby
Winter chic meets bold patterns-ugly sweaters, neon snow jackets, patterned mittens, or anything frosty/sparkly

Thursday - Winter Whiteout(pep rally)
Blizzard the stands! Wear all white to light up the gym and show your school pride at the homecoming game that night. Homecoming Court will be introduced at both the pep rally and homecoming and the Homecoming King and Queen will be crowned at the game.

Friday Ballin' Out Friday
Bundle up and ball out! Show off your team colors, jerseys, and joggers!

Also, there is a winter coat drive being held at #HMS for class points. Each coat turned in to the boxes outside the gym between December 1st to 12th will coat towards class points. Coats will go to those in need. Help show others how much we care and how we #SoarAboveTheRest here at Harris Middle School!

🌟 Celebrating Exceptional Growth! 🌟

At their November school board meeting, #BedfordCountySchools recognized outstanding 1st and 2nd grade teachers whose students reached Level 4 and Level 5 growth on the Universal Reading Screener for the 2024–2025 school year! 📚✨

Each fall, #students take the Universal Reading Screener, which measures key literacy skills including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. They take it again in the spring, and the results highlight just how much students have grown.

These teachers have guided their students to remarkable growth, showing the power of dedication, effective instruction and a strong commitment to literacy success. #Congratulations to these exceptional educators! Their work is helping students become confident, capable readers every day.

🌟 Our School Board Continues to Lead with Purpose! 🌟

Members of our district’s school board recently attended the TSBA Leadership Conference & Annual Convention at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center, and it was a powerful weekend focused on strengthening #leadership and elevating #student success across Tennessee.

Throughout the conference, board members attended inspiring keynotes, clinics and workshops, explored innovative ideas and celebrated the achievements of school leaders statewide. 💡📚

They also participated in the #TSBA Delegate Assembly, helping shape the association’s work for the coming year by electing officers, approving the strategic plan and voting on key resolutions.
