#HarrisMiddleSchool will be holding tryouts for the #HMS Girls Basketball Team on Thursday, May 28 and Friday, May 29 from 5:15pm-7:15pm both nights.
Tryouts are open to all students who will be in 6th-8th grade during the 2026-2027 school year who will be attending either Harris Middle or Thomas Magnet and also home school students who are zoned for #HMS.
Those attending tryouts are expected to bring athletic clothing, basketball shoes, a water bottle, a positive attitude, be ready to work hard and to hustle, and they must have a sports physical dated April 15, 2026 or later.
Those planning to tryout must attend tryouts both days.

If you are a current 8th grade student at either #HMS or Liberty you can sign up for Eagle Flight School, which will take place on Monday June 1 and Tuesday June 2 from 8am to 3pm.
Lunch and snacks will be provided both days.
There be an ice cream social.
These two days will help you get ready for high school by:
-exploring 10+ career pathways through hands-on activities,
-learning from real professionals in the fields of aerospace, health care, law enforcement, welding, coding, and more,
-learn how to navigate SCHS campus like a pro,
-discover clubs, electives, and other opportunities for your freshman year.

On Friday, May 8, the #HarrisMiddleSchool Varsity Tennis teams competed in the finals of the 2026 CTC Championship Tournaments.
The #HMS Eaglettes Tennis Team defeated Tullahoma, 5-4. The Eaglettes finish 16-0 overall, undefeated in both regular season and tournament play, and both the 2026 CTC Regular Season and Tournament Champions! The Eaglettes have now won back-to-back championships and will be looking for a threepeat next season.
The HMS Eagles Tennis team lost to Tullahoma, 0-6. The Eagles had an undefeated regular season, made the finals of the CTC Tournament, finished 15-1 overall, and are the 2026 CTC Regular Season Champions.
Congratulations to Coach Russell, Coach King, and to all of the players on an amazing season and bringing home yet another championship and showing us all how to #SoarAboveTheRest.

Emilee Blackburn 400 meter - 2nd and 200 meter - 5th
In relay competitions, Harris had the following top five results:
4x100 relay team - 5th, 4x200 relay team - 4th, and 4x400 relay team - 5th
We are extremely proud of the entire team. Each member of the team gave it their all and did their best.
The following HMS runners received CTC All Conference Awards:
