It’s FINALLY Friday, #HarrisMiddleSchool Family! Somebody wake up Green Day, because September has officially ended and October has arrived! 🍂🎃
HMS Volleyball and Football wrapped up their seasons this past week, leaving HMS Cross Country as the only team that started back in August with events still remaining.
But with a new month comes new teams beginning to take shape! 🏀 Both our #HMS Boys and Girls Basketball teams have completed tryouts, and several other teams have tryouts coming up soon.

🏐 MONDAY | VOLLEYBALL
#HMS Volleyball faced Coffee County in the opening round of the district tournament.
Our Eaglettes battled hard, winning the first set 30–28, but came up short in the second and third sets, bringing an end to their first season under Coach Makara Mason.

🏈 TUESDAY | FOOTBALL
#HMS Football traveled to Tullahoma to take on White County in the Lion’s Bowl. The Eagles led 14–8 at halftime but ultimately fell by a final score of 28–22.
In his first season as head coach of our Eagles, Coach Ransom led the team to five consecutive victories and the District 5AA Championship! 🏆
Congratulations, gentlemen, on a fantastic 2026 season! 💙💛🦅

#HMS Football traveled to Tullahoma to take on White County in the Lion’s Bowl. The Eagles led 14–8 at halftime but ultimately fell by a final score of 28–22.
In his first season as head coach of our Eagles, Coach Ransom led the team to five consecutive victories and the District 5AA Championship! 🏆
Congratulations, gentlemen, on a fantastic 2026 season! 💙💛🦅

Our #HMS Boys and Girls Basketball teams also held tryouts earlier this week.
Congratulations to all the young men and women who earned a spot on their respective teams! We can’t wait to see what these Eagles and Eaglettes accomplish this season! 🏀🦅

The #HarrisMiddleSchool Boys Tennis Team and Girls Tennis Team will be holding tryouts at the H.V. Griffin Tennis Courts on Wednesday, October 28 - Friday, October 30, from 4pm-6pm each day.
Those trying out are encouraged to attend all the days. They must also bring water, their own tennis racquet, and good fitting tennis shoes.
Those trying out must have a current sports physical, dated after April 15, 2026.
Students who are enrolled at #HMS, Liberty, Thomas Magnet, or are homeschool students who are zoned for those schools may tryout.
Those wishing to tryout are encouraged to practice on their own and advised they can use helpful resources such as YouTube to find instructional videos on things such as forehand and backhand swings
If you have questions you can visit Coach Russell during Parent/Teacher Conferences on Thursday, October 22.
#HarrisMiddleSchool Baseball final tryout will be held October 8, 2026 at SCHS Baseball Field.
5:30pm - 7:00pm
No metal cleats allowed, turf or tennis shoes only.
No gum or sunflower seeds allowed.
Parents and players must park at the Main Football Gate and walk down to the Baseball Field.
All players from previous tryout are required to attend.
Needed:
Physical dated April 15 2026 or later
Baseball equipment (Glove, Bat, Helmet, Hat, etc.)
