Next week is the start of Dream Big Fall Homecoming at #HarrisMiddleSchool. Each day will have a different theme:

As we enter the second full week of September, our fall sports seasons are beginning to wind down. While we may not have quite as many games and meets on the schedule as we have in recent weeks, every contest is important as our Eagles and Eaglettes look toward the postseason and the finish line of their seasons!
But before we turn our attention to the week ahead, let’s take a quick look back at the action from this past weekend.
⚽ EAGLETTES EARN HARD-FOUGHT SHUTOUT WIN
HMS Girls Soccer picked up a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Battle Creek at home Friday night!
Slayleigh Doak scored the lone goal of the match, while Gaby Reyes came up big in goal to secure the shutout for the Eaglettes! 🧤⚽
🏃 CROSS COUNTRY BURNS UP THE COURSE
The HMS Cross Country teams competed Saturday at Webb, and the Eagles and Eaglettes turned in some impressive performances!
Every member of the HMS Cross Country team posted a sub-30-minute time, with Elijah Williams leading the way with a blazing 13:47 and Dylan Soto completing the mile in 15:06. Way to hit the ground running! 🏃💨

HMS Sports Weekly Recap | September 7–11 🦅💙💛
Hello and happy Friday to all of our #HarrisMiddleSchool family and friends! 🦅💙💛
It was a short week of competition thanks to Labor Day, but that didn’t stop our student-athletes from packing plenty of action into the four days we were on the field and court! With football, volleyball, girls soccer, and cross country all in action, there was plenty to celebrate.
So, let’s turn on EagleVision and take a look back at the week that was in #HMS Sports!
🏈 TUESDAY | FOOTBALL
The HMS Football Eagles were back in The Nest Tuesday night, hosting Lewisburg, and they put on a show!
The Eagles obliterated the competition, rolling to a dominant 46–0 victory and securing their third consecutive win! 🔥
It was a true triple threat performance from the Eagles. The offense found the end zone both on the ground and through the air, while the defense pitched a shutout and even added interceptions returned for touchdowns. Special teams got in on the action as well, recovering multiple kickoffs.
Coach Ransom and his team continue to put the pieces together both on and off the field, and the hard work is showing on the scoreboard. Three straight wins and counting! 🦅🏈
🏐 TUESDAY | VOLLEYBALL
HMS Volleyball was also home Tuesday night, welcoming E.O. Coffman to the Nest.
Both the Varsity and Junior Varsity Eaglettes battled hard but came up short in straight sets. Despite the results, both teams competed hard, played some close points, and continued to fight for every single point.
⚽ WEDNESDAY | GIRLS SOCCER
The HMS Eaglettes took the pitch Wednesday night, hosting cross-town rival Cascade.
The Junior Varsity Eaglettes came away with a 2–0 shutout victory, led by a strong performance in goal from Pyper Dixon. Sofia Villarreal and Ashley Guox each found the back of the net for the Eaglettes.
The Varsity Eaglettes battled Cascade to a 1–1 draw. Yaretzi Sanchez scored the lone Eaglettes goal, assisted by Sydney Peacock.
The JV Eaglettes have now wrapped up their season, while Varsity remains in action and will host Battle Creek tonight, Friday, September 11, at 5:30 p.m.

The Eaglettes were back on the court Thursday, traveling to Whitthorne.
The Varsity Eaglettes came away with a victory, while the JV Eaglettes fell in two sets.
But those two sets certainly didn’t come easy for Whitthorne. Both sets went beyond 25 points and featured some extremely competitive volleyball from our girls.
Coach Mason summed up the week perfectly:
“What a week of volleyball for our girls! ❤️ This week brought some tough competition, close sets, and some BIG moments that showed just how much these girls continue to grow. The girls fought hard and never gave up, and their ability to battle point-for-point is something to be proud of!”
We couldn’t agree more, Coach! 🦅🏐
