The Bedford County Swim Team will be holding an Information Meeting on Tuesday, August 25, at 6:00 PM in the Shelbyville Recreation Center Meeting Rooms. We encourage all interested students and their families to attend to learn more about the team and the upcoming season.
Tryouts for new swimmers and the first practice for returning swimmers will be held on Tuesday, September 8.

HMS Sports Weekly Preview | August 3-7
Hello and happy August to all of our #HarrisMiddleSchool family! School starts today for students, and we have two teams in action this week and one holding tryouts.
#HMS Football will open the 2026 regular season as they host Tullahoma on Tuesday, August 4. The game will be played at the SCHS Football Stadium with kickoff scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
At 5:30 p.m., also on Tuesday, August 4 at the SCHS Soccer Field, the HMS Varsity Girls Soccer team will face Whitthorne. The HMS Junior Varsity Girls Soccer team will play immediately following the conclusion of the varsity match.
HMS Softball will be holding tryouts on Tuesday, August 4 and Wednesday, August 5, from 3:45pm-5:45pm both days. The tryouts will take place at Softball Field 2 at H.V. Griffin Park. Those trying out will need bring all their equipment and as sports physical dated after April 15, 2026.
Included in this post are the schedules for all of our sports teams that will be in action during the month of August.
Looking ahead to next week, football, girls soccer, and volleyball will all be in action.

School doesn't officially start for students until Monday, August 3, but we did have one team in action this week.
On Tuesday, July 28, the #HMS Girls Soccer team faced off against Siegel at the Shelbyville Central High School Football Stadium. The Varsity squad earned a 2-1 victory, with Daleysa Hernandez and Macey Peacock each scoring a goal.
The Junior Varsity team also came away with a win, defeating Siegel 3-0. Trinity Perkins led the way with two goals, while Xiemena Reyes added another.
