#HarrisMiddleSchool SRO, Officer Stephens, recently taught a lesson to some of our #HMS 7th grade students about alcohol and the effects of drinking.

Officer Stephens also brought some "drunk goggles" for the students to try on and walk around in. This helped the students see the impact that drinking can have on eyesight and how it could affect their ability to walk or drive.

Officer Stephens also gave the students a field sobriety test while they wore the "drunk goggles" to help them understand what those accused of being intoxicated might have to go through to prove their sobriety.

Thank you to Miss Blackburn for having Officer Stephens in her class to teach this lesson, and thank you to Officer Stephens for educating our students about the potential impacts of drinking alcohol.

The #HarrisMiddleSchool Tennis team hit the courts again Tuesday, April 14 and both the Eagles and Eaglettes came away with wins.

The #HMS Eagles defeated Westwood 9-0 with Brison Sims and Liam Grimes winning 6-0.

The #HMS Eaglettes defeated Westwood 6-3, Elan Grijalva won 6-0 as did the team of Maddie Marsh and Carmencita Jordan.

HMS Tennis will play again on Monday, April 20 at Lewisburg.

Recently, 7th Grade Math Teacher, Mrs. Breedlove, discussed the upcoming Tennessee Comprehensive Assessment Program Testing that will be taking place at #HarrisMiddleSchool starting on Tuesday, April 21.

The #HMS students made signs saying they would be their best on the test and also made structures out of LEGO pieces to discuss not being the missing piece during testing.

Harris Middle School Baseball Rally Defeats TMS Wildcats - Varsity By GameChanger Media #HarrisMiddleSchool Baseball rallied to defeat TMS Wildcats - Varsity 10-7 on Friday. Harris Middle School Baseball trailed by as many as five runs during the game. TMS Wildcats - Varsity got on the board in the top of the third inning after Aaron Pogue walked, Colson Ray singled to center field, Haiden Brinkley walked, and Kingston Bunch walked, each scoring one run. #HMS Baseball flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the sixth, scoring seven runs on four hits to take the lead, 10-5. The biggest blow in the inning was an inside the park home run to right field by Tobin Hathcock that drove in three. Canyon Todd opened the game for Harris Middle School Baseball. The righty allowed three hits and four runs over two and one-third innings, striking out three and walking four. Brinkley started on the mound for TMS Wildcats - Varsity. The pitcher surrendered two hits and one run over four innings, striking out nine and walking six. Mason Carney and Knox Bowman each appeared in relief for Harris Middle School Baseball. Hathcock led Harris Middle School Baseball with three runs batted in. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. Jake Dunnavant led Harris Middle School Baseball with two hits in three at bats. Mason Bowman led Harris Middle School Baseball with three walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating 14 walks for the game. Dunnavant, Bowman, and Chasen McMillian each stole multiple bases for Harris Middle School Baseball. Harris Middle School Baseball stole 11 bases in the game. Harris Middle School Baseball were sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Bowman made the most plays with seven.
